HHW Technician

Responsibilities

• Manage household hazardous waste collection events and similar activities
• Unload materials from vehicles, trucks, and pick-ups
• Segregate chemicals into appropriate packaging categories or DOT hazard classes
• Differentiate and consolidate similar materials while wearing respiratory protection
• Recognize and respond to potentially dangerous situations related to chemical handling
• Adhere to all health, safety, and compliance procedures in accordance with departmental policies
• Maintain a professional image through regular customer interaction

Requirements

• High School Diploma
• Valid Driver's License
• Ability to travel to different locations
• Ability to wear respiratory protection
• Must be comfortable being clean-shaven for safety compliance

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience working with hazardous waste
• 40-hour HAZWOPER Certification
