HGV Driver

Responsibilities

• Report to the Transport Coordinator at the start of shift
• Ensure correct and thorough completion of paperwork
• Observe and adhere to company rules, health, safety, and hygiene procedures
• Manage working time in line with the Road Transport Directive and tachograph regulations
• Perform daily vehicle checks and temperature checks for units and trailers
• Make professional deliveries to customer premises
• Report delivery delays or load discrepancies immediately
• Ensure proof of deliveries (PODs) are signed and returned
• Achieve fuel efficiency targets set by the business

Requirements

• Minimum 6 months experience of Class 1 driving
• Possession of LGV Class C+E Licence
• Valid CPC and Tacho card
• Knowledge of Road Transport Directive and drivers' hours
• Excellent attention to detail and communication skills
• Ability to work without direct supervision
