HGV Class 1 Shunter

Responsibilities

• On Site Shunting responsibilities, loading and unloading goods and transporting around site
• Shunting Trailers between loading docks and designated yard areas
• Ensuring correct positioning for loading and unloading
• Operating Vehicles in line with site rules, speed limits and pedestrian controls
• Completing all necessary vehicle checks and documentation
• Maintaining high levels of safety, compliance, and professionalism
• Working closely with the transport team to ensure smooth operations
• Adhere to Driver's hours, WTD, and tachograph legislation

Requirements

• Valid C+E Licence
• Minimum 6 months HGV Class 1 driving experience
• No more than 6 points and no DD/ DR Code convictions
• Current valid DCPC & Tacho cards
• Understanding of Driver’s hours and WTD legislation
• Ability to perform vehicle safety checks and report defects
• Excellent communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience in an HGV Shunting role
