HGV Class 1 Driver

Responsibilities

• Optimising all routes and adherence of WTD and drivers’ hours legislation
• Controlling equipment through training received and sign in / sign out procedure
• Ensuring all pallets / loads are secured using loads straps
• Effectively communicating with the Transport team and other depots
• Ensuring retailer arrival and departure times and managing delivery documentation
• Providing the admin team with completed timesheets and paperwork at end of shift
• Communicating any potential failures or changes to the original plan
• Liaising with delivery staff to identify discrepancies
• Reporting all accidents, incidents and near misses
• Working to maximise fuel MPG and continuous improvement of driving standards
• Managing vehicle and trailer cleanliness

Requirements

• C+E Licence with minimum 6 months experience
• Tachograph card
• DCPC qualification card
• Maximum 6 points on licence
• No drug or drink driving
• No careless or dangerous driving
• Attention to detail and accuracy
• Ability to work without direct supervision
• Flexible and methodical approach to work
