HGV Class 1 Driver

Responsibilities

• Carrying out chilled distribution deliveries to main retail RDCs nationwide
• Delivering to key customer sites including major UK retailers
• Completing self-tip deliveries where required, including breaking down pallets
• Collecting equipment or returns from customer locations
• Reporting to the Transport team regarding delays, delivery issues, or load discrepancies
• Completing all paperwork accurately and ensuring PODs are signed and returned
• Following company procedures, including health, safety, and hygiene standards
• Managing working time in line with the Road Transport Directive and tachograph rules
• Completing daily vehicle checks and reporting defects
• Maintaining professional standards of behaviour and customer service

Requirements

• Possession of LGV Class 1 Licence
• Current CPC
• Knowledge of Road Transport Directive and current drivers’ hours
• Excellent communication skills
• Ability to work efficiently and accurately under pressure
• Ability to effectively prioritise workload to meet deadlines
