HGV Class 1 Driver

Responsibilities

• Carry out safe, professional deliveries to customer premises across the UK
• Perform a mix of store and depot deliveries, including physical duties like moving trolleys and handling bread baskets
• Load and unload goods where required
• Report to the Transport team and provide updates on delays or load discrepancies
• Complete all paperwork accurately and ensure PODs are signed and returned
• Follow company health, safety, and hygiene standards
• Manage working time in compliance with the Road Transport Directive and tachograph rules
• Complete daily vehicle checks and report defects
• Maintain professional behavior and customer service standards
• Achieve fuel efficiency targets

Requirements

• Possession of LGV Class C+E Licence and valid DCPC
• Minimum 6 months of Class 1 driving experience preferred
• Full UK Driving Licence
• Knowledge of Road Transport Directive and current drivers’ hours
• Ability to work without direct supervision
• Excellent communication and attention to detail

• Experience in food logistics or temperature-controlled environments
