About the role

Responsibilities

  • Supervise overall safety and health activities for Blending & Shipping and Zinc Product Manufacturing at the Oronite Ningbo Plant.
  • Develop and maintain the safety management system, including Control of Work, Occupational Health, Incident Investigation, and Emergency Management.
  • Ensure plant compliance with local Chinese regulations and corporate requirements.
  • Monitor HES performance, update safety scorecards, and manage assurance activities such as CoW verification and coaching.
  • Manage contractor OE management, including pre-qualification, field visits, and performance assessments.
  • Coordinate industrial hygiene monitoring, including employee monitoring and facility noise mapping.
  • Facilitate incident investigations, reporting, and risk screening assessments for Management of Change (MOC).
  • Maintain the HES training matrix and deliver training to employees, contractors, and visitors.
  • Lead liaison with government and regulatory agencies and host governmental site inspections.
  • Participate in project commissioning, start-up activities, and PSSRs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Chemical Engineering or a related field.
  • CSP (Certified Safety Professional) certification is required.
  • 10+ years of working experience in HSE.
  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in the refinery, petrochemical, or chemical industry.
  • Strong knowledge of Chinese HSE regulations and requirements.
  • Proficiency in English (both oral and written) for business reporting and communication.
  • Proven experience managing Control of Work (CoW) procedures.

Preferred Qualifications

  • CIH (Certified Industrial Hygienist) certification.
  • Experience in hazardous chemical manufacturing.
  • Experience with ISO 9001, 14001, 45001, or 50001 standards.
  • Previous experience in project management or project-based environments.
