Helicopter Pilot (Instructor)

Responsibilities

• Provide flight instruction in the UH-72 to prepare student pilots for future roles as military aviators
• Teach, coach, and mentor student pilots through intensive training programs
• Maintain a paramount focus on safety within the Rotary Wing Flight Training culture
• Conduct flight instruction within the National Airspace System

Requirements

• FAA Commercial Pilot Certificate and FAA Flight Instructor Certificate (Rotorcraft category, Helicopter class, and Instrument helicopter ratings) or graduate of a DOD rotary wing instructor pilot course
• 1,500 total flight hours
• 500 hours of instructor time
• 100 hours of hooded instrument, flight simulator instrument, or weather pilot time
• 75 hours of night flying
• Experience instructing students in instrument flight training
• Current FAA Second Class Medical Certificate
• Legal authorization to work in the United States

Preferred Qualifications

• Military aviation experience
• UH-72 qualification
• Night Vision Goggle (NVG) qualification with 200 hours of NVG time
