About the role
Responsibilities
- Provide flight instruction in the UH-72 to prepare student pilots for future roles as military aviators
- Teach, coach, and mentor student pilots through intensive training programs
- Maintain a paramount focus on safety within the Rotary Wing Flight Training culture
- Conduct flight instruction within the National Airspace System
Requirements
- FAA Commercial Pilot Certificate and FAA Flight Instructor Certificate (Rotorcraft category, Helicopter class, and Instrument helicopter ratings) or graduate of a DOD rotary wing instructor pilot course
- 1,500 total flight hours
- 500 hours of instructor time
- 100 hours of hooded instrument, flight simulator instrument, or weather pilot time
- 75 hours of night flying
- Experience instructing students in instrument flight training
- Current FAA Second Class Medical Certificate
- Legal authorization to work in the United States
Preferred Qualifications
- Military aviation experience
- UH-72 qualification
- Night Vision Goggle (NVG) qualification with 200 hours of NVG time
