Heavy Vehicle Mechanic

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical faults in engines and vehicle parts
• Perform routine maintenance on trucks and trailers, including oil changes, lubrication, and tune-ups
• Use diagnostic tools and computer systems to troubleshoot and test vehicle components
• Test and adjust mechanical systems post-repair to ensure reliability and proper operation
• Conduct vehicle inspections and issue roadworthy certificates or detailed reports
• Provide on-site mechanical support for breakdowns when required
• Work on a modern fleet of new or near-new trucks and trailers in a well-equipped workshop

Requirements

• Mechanical Trade qualification
• Proven experience as a Heavy Vehicle Mechanic
• Ability to read and interpret maintenance manuals
• Strong time management skills and ability to work to schedules
• Excellent communication and customer service skills
• Proactive approach and positive attitude
• HR/HC licence (desirable but not essential)
