About the role

Responsibilities

  • Operate, repair, and maintain heavy power construction equipment including compressors, pumps, trucks, and flightline support vehicles
  • Perform heavy equipment maintenance activities such as installation, troubleshooting, diagnostics, and preventive maintenance
  • Disassemble and reassemble engines and mechanical units to inspect and diagnose parts using computerized test equipment
  • Replace and rebuild hydraulic cylinders, valves, planetary drive units, suspensions, and bearings
  • Conduct mobile maintenance duties including repairing hydraulic lines, pneumatic equipment, and air conditioning systems
  • Manage administrative tasks such as inventory, vendor coordination, and data entry in maintenance management systems (MAXIMO/DPAS)
  • Ensure compliance with workplace safety, environmental practices, and quality standards

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 2 to 5 years of experience in operating and maintaining heavy equipment
  • Licensed or trained to operate applicable heavy equipment
  • Proven experience in the repair of major mechanical systems
  • Ability to read and understand schematics, blueprints, and technical drawings
  • Proficiency in English (speaking, reading, and writing)
  • Physical ability to lift up to 100 pounds and work in various weather conditions

Preferred Qualifications

  • Motor vehicle air conditioning certification
  • Specialized knowledge in diesel and heavy automotive repair
  • Experience with US military heavy vehicles and Material Handling Equipment (MHE)
  • Knowledge of OSHA, ANSI, and ASME standards
