About the role
Responsibilities
- Operate, repair, and maintain heavy power construction equipment including compressors, pumps, trucks, and flightline support vehicles
- Perform heavy equipment maintenance activities such as installation, troubleshooting, diagnostics, and preventive maintenance
- Disassemble and reassemble engines and mechanical units to inspect and diagnose parts using computerized test equipment
- Replace and rebuild hydraulic cylinders, valves, planetary drive units, suspensions, and bearings
- Conduct mobile maintenance duties including repairing hydraulic lines, pneumatic equipment, and air conditioning systems
- Manage administrative tasks such as inventory, vendor coordination, and data entry in maintenance management systems (MAXIMO/DPAS)
- Ensure compliance with workplace safety, environmental practices, and quality standards
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 2 to 5 years of experience in operating and maintaining heavy equipment
- Licensed or trained to operate applicable heavy equipment
- Proven experience in the repair of major mechanical systems
- Ability to read and understand schematics, blueprints, and technical drawings
- Proficiency in English (speaking, reading, and writing)
- Physical ability to lift up to 100 pounds and work in various weather conditions
Preferred Qualifications
- Motor vehicle air conditioning certification
- Specialized knowledge in diesel and heavy automotive repair
- Experience with US military heavy vehicles and Material Handling Equipment (MHE)
- Knowledge of OSHA, ANSI, and ASME standards
