About the role

Responsibilities

  • Conduct preventative maintenance and servicing of mobile, auxiliary, and stationary mining equipment
  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, and determine the extent of mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical problems
  • Perform major repairs and rebuild components, collaborating with manufacturers when necessary
  • Inspect equipment to detect faults and malfunctions to ensure proper performance
  • Conduct job risk assessments and develop safe work plans to ensure a zero-harm environment
  • Document and return completed work orders in a timely manner
  • Collaborate with Planners, Schedulers, and Supervisors to coordinate work and develop work packages

Requirements

  • Valid Interprovincial Red Seal Journeyperson’s Heavy Duty Technician Certification
  • Minimum of 12 months of surface mining field experience repairing heavy earthmoving equipment
  • Strong hydraulic and electrical skills with the ability to read and understand schematics
  • Experience with Komatsu assets
  • Ability to work in a remote mining site and cross-cultural environment
  • Must be eligible to work in Canada

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience maintaining hydraulic shovels
  • Proficiency using SAP for work order management
