Heavy Equipment Operator

Responsibilities

• Drive safe production through effective decision making and hazard identification
• Perform quality pre-operation machine inspections and document requirements
• Maintain high standards of housekeeping for machines and work areas
• Assist with MSHA regulatory task training and compliance verification
• Operate various heavy equipment including excavators, dozers, loaders, graders, water trucks, and haulage trucks
• Participate in risk assessment processes and proactive near miss reporting
• Support manual tasks as required to meet business needs

Requirements

• 1-3 years of experience in mining or heavy industry preferred
• Willingness and ability to adhere to OSHA and MSHA regulatory requirements
• Valid and insurable driving license
• Ability to work flexible shift schedules including days and nights
• Ability to travel on short notice to support various sites
• Physical ability to lift up to 85 pounds and meet equipment manufacturer safety weight requirements
• Strong communication skills and attention to detail
