About the role
Responsibilities
- Operate heavy mining equipment including excavators, dozers, loaders, graders, water trucks, and haulage trucks
- Perform quality pre-operation machine inspections and document requirements
- Identify and control hazards to ensure safe production
- Maintain high standards of housekeeping for machines and work areas
- Assist with MSHA regulatory task training and compliance
- Participate in risk assessment processes and near miss reporting
- Support manual tasks as required to meet business needs
Requirements
- 1-3 years of experience in mining or heavy industry preferred
- Ability to adhere to OSHA and MSHA regulatory requirements
- Valid and insurable driving license
- Ability to work flexible shift schedules including days and nights
- Willingness to travel on short notice to various sites
- Physical ability to lift up to 85 pounds and perform repetitive climbing, kneeling, and squatting
- Ability to meet equipment manufacturer safety weight requirements (under 330 lbs)
