Heavy Equipment Operator

Responsibilities

• Safely and skillfully operate a variety of heavy mobile equipment and attachments to excavate, grade, and move hard rock
• Conduct daily safety checks and inspections of equipment before operation
• Monitor equipment performance and report any issues according to mine operating procedures
• Adhere to all company standards regarding safety, environmental protection, and code of conduct
• Communicate effectively with team members via two-way radio

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Minimum of three (3) years of experience in the mining industry, specifically in remote sites or open pit mines
• Qualified to operate at least three types of heavy equipment (e.g., Excavators, Shovels, Loaders, Dozers, Graders, or Haul Trucks)
• Ability to work 12-hour day and night shifts on a 14/14 rotational basis
• Must list specific make and model numbers of equipment operated on your resume

Preferred Qualifications

• Membership in Deninu Kué, Lutsel K’e Dene First Nation, North Slave Métis Alliance, Northwest Territory Métis Nation, Tlicho Government, or Yellowknives Dene First Nation
• Residency in the Northwest Territories
