About the role
Responsibilities
- Operate heavy construction equipment including excavators, asphalt screeds, rollers, loaders, and bulldozers
- Perform excavation, trenching, grading, backfilling, and earthmoving operations
- Operate paving equipment for asphalt placement and compaction
- Grade surfaces according to project plans and specifications
- Load, transport, and stockpile construction materials
- Conduct daily equipment inspections and perform basic preventive maintenance
- Identify and report equipment malfunctions, defects, or safety hazards
- Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations and company safety policies
- Maintain accurate equipment operation logs and maintenance records
Requirements
- Minimum 2–5 years of experience operating heavy construction equipment
- Experience with excavators, screeds, rollers, loaders, and bulldozers
- Knowledge of grading, excavation, paving, and site preparation techniques
- Ability to read site plans, grade stakes, and construction drawings
- Valid driver's license required; CDL preferred
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification preferred
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
