Heavy Equipment Operator

Responsibilities

• Operate heavy construction equipment including excavators, asphalt screeds, rollers, loaders, and bulldozers
• Perform excavation, trenching, grading, backfilling, and earthmoving operations
• Operate paving equipment for asphalt placement and compaction
• Grade surfaces according to project plans and specifications
• Load, transport, and stockpile construction materials
• Conduct daily equipment inspections and perform basic preventive maintenance
• Identify and report equipment malfunctions, defects, or safety hazards
• Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations and company safety policies
• Maintain accurate equipment operation logs and maintenance records

Requirements

• Minimum 2–5 years of experience operating heavy construction equipment
• Experience with excavators, screeds, rollers, loaders, and bulldozers
• Knowledge of grading, excavation, paving, and site preparation techniques
• Ability to read site plans, grade stakes, and construction drawings
• Valid driver's license required; CDL preferred
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification preferred
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
