Heavy Equipment Operator

Responsibilities

• Operate heavy equipment, particularly cranes, and participate in general yard activities
• Sort and identify metals using tests and magnets
• Receive, unload, and move metals to appropriate areas
• Inspect the quality of received and handled materials
• Operate various equipment including loaders, Bobcats, and forklifts
• Load ferrous materials destined for customers
• Perform manual tasks related to sorting and organizing materials

Requirements

• 2 to 3 years of experience operating heavy equipment (crane, loader, or equivalent)
• Ability to work in a physical, outdoor environment in all weather conditions
• Strong teamwork skills and adaptability
• Commitment to health and safety at work
• Proactive and versatile attitude

Preferred Qualifications

• DEP in heavy equipment operation or relevant training
• Experience in scrap yards or the recycling industry
• Knowledge of metals
