About the role
Responsibilities
- Operate heavy equipment and participate in general yard activities
- Sort and identify metals using tests and magnets
- Receive, unload, and direct metals to appropriate zones
- Verify the quality of received and handled materials
- Use various equipment including cranes, loaders, Bobcats, and forklifts
- Load ferrous materials for customers
- Perform manual tasks related to daily operations such as sorting and organizing materials
Requirements
- 2 to 3 years of experience in heavy equipment operation (crane, loader, or equivalent)
- Ability to work in a physical environment outdoors in all weather conditions
- Strong teamwork skills and adaptability to changing priorities
- Commitment to occupational health and safety
- Proactive and versatile attitude
Preferred Qualifications
- DEP in construction equipment operation or relevant heavy machinery training
- Experience in scrap yards or the recycling industry
- Knowledge of metals
