Heavy Equipment Mechanic

Responsibilities

• Maintain mining equipment and perform preventative maintenance backlog repairs
• Conduct quality pre-operation machine inspections and document requirements
• Perform G.E.T replacement and equipment attachment replacement
• Execute minor equipment repairs and monitor fluid levels
• Operate maintenance service trucks and fuel/lube trucks
• Assist with MSHA regulatory training and compliance verification
• Participate in hazard identification, risk assessment, and near miss reporting
• Maintain high standards of housekeeping for machines and work areas

Requirements

• 1-3 years of experience in mining or heavy industry preferred
• Ability to adhere to OSHA and MSHA regulatory requirements
• Valid and insurable driving license
• Ability to lift and carry up to 100 pounds
• Ability to perform physical tasks including kneeling, crouching, climbing, and repetitive movements
• Flexibility to work various shift schedules including days and nights
• Willingness to travel on short notice to support existing sites
