Heavy Equipment Mechanic

Responsibilities

• Inspect equipment engines and mechanical/electrical components using diagnostic tools
• Conduct routine maintenance including fluid replacement, lubrication, and component adjustment
• Repair or replace hydraulic systems, cylinders, hoses, and 12V/24V electrical systems
• Perform welding and metal fabrication to repair or reinforce machinery
• Inspect and test heavy-duty equipment such as excavators, grapples, shears, and forklifts
• Develop and implement preventative maintenance plans to reduce equipment failures
• Maintain detailed maintenance records using Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS)
• Monitor inventory levels and coordinate reordering of parts and tools
• Adhere to all safety protocols and participate in regular safety training

Requirements

• Proficiency in troubleshooting hydraulic systems and 12V/24V electrical systems
• Experience with welding and metal fabrication
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical manuals, and schematics
• Physical ability to lift up to 40 pounds and perform prolonged walking, standing, climbing, and crouching
• Ability to work in outdoor conditions with exposure to extreme temperatures

Preferred Qualifications

• 8-10 years of experience in heavy machinery maintenance and repair
• Familiarity with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS)
