Heavy Equipment Mechanic Inspector

Responsibilities

• Operate and inspect heavy machinery to verify repairs and identify necessary parts
• Order parts required for identified repairs and maintenance
• Confirm that all repairs and maintenance were completed according to Technical Manual guidelines
• Provide technical guidance to mechanics based on inspection results
• Recommend revisions to internal maintenance procedures to improve efficiency and quality
• Complete all necessary paperwork associated with vehicle maintenance and repairs

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• 5+ years of heavy machinery maintenance experience, including 3 years of recent field experience
• Valid Class A driver's license
• US Citizenship (required for facility credentials/authorization)
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, wiring diagrams, and service bulletins
• Basic computer skills and ability to write routine reports
• Ability to lift 50 lbs and work in various physical conditions, including heights and extreme weather

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with the maintenance and repair of military tactical vehicles (e.g., M1 tanks, Bradley fighting vehicles)
• Previous leadership experience
• ASE and/or Diesel Mechanic Certifications
