Heavy Equipment Mechanic

Responsibilities

• Perform diagnostics, repairs, and preventive maintenance on diesel, gasoline, and spray equipment
• Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and spray system issues
• Conduct inspections and test drives to ensure safe operation
• Maintain accurate repair records and shop inventory
• Assist with equipment fabrication and custom builds
• Ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards
• Respond to emergency breakdowns in the field when required
• Assist vegetation spray crews in the field during downtime

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Valid driver’s license with minimum 5 years clean driving history
• Proven experience repairing heavy trucks (gas and diesel)
• Welding experience
• Experience working on sweepers, catch basin trucks, and tractors
• Proficiency with hand tools and power equipment (chainsaws, trimmers, blowers)
• Must possess own tools
• Willingness to work overtime

Preferred Qualifications

• Technical training in mechanics
• Class B CDL
