Heavy Equipment Mechanic

Responsibilities

• Provide technical services for heavy equipment repair, assembly, fabrication, and maintenance of military and commercial vehicle prototypes.
• Drive and test-drive heavy equipment, ground military vehicles, and advanced autonomous transport prototypes.
• Evaluate and report vehicle performance, noting any technical issues, successes, or areas for improvement.
• Perform system integration tasks involving hydraulics, pneumatics, electronics, and mechanical components.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical issues and perform preventive or special maintenance.
• Document all repairs, installations, and any resulting changes to vehicle performance.
• Repair components by replacing worn or damaged parts with new or reconditioned units.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 45 lbs.
• Basic to intermediate computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Ability to pass a government background check.
• Ability to travel up to 25%.
• Ability to follow all safety, regulatory, and environmental standards.

Preferred Qualifications

• Military experience.
• Experience with TIG/MIG welding and fabrication.
• Possession of, or willingness to obtain, a Commercial Driver License (CDL-B).
