Heat Treat Machine Operator

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain setups for conventional, special purpose, and numerical control (NC) machines to fabricate and assemble metallic and nonmetallic components.
• Verify part numbers and processes before, during, and after heat treatment operations to ensure precision.
• Follow documented procedures strictly and obtain proper authorization for any process deviations.
• Handle the racking and unracking of parts and complete all required paperwork and computer data entry.
• Perform metallurgical tests, including case depth verification, hardness evaluation, and microstructure analysis.
• Safely use forklifts, electric/hand trucks, or hoists to move materials.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Demonstrated mechanical aptitude and understanding of manufacturing processes.
• Proficiency in quality tools such as PPAP, PFMEA, 8D, and capability studies.
• Computer literacy, including Microsoft Office and experience with PLC or test stand applications.
• Ability to interpret hydraulic and electrical schematics.

Preferred Qualifications

• One year of relevant manufacturing or heat treat experience.
• Experience with TPM and SMED methodologies.
