Healthcare Technician

Responsibilities

• Support the delivery of high-quality patient care throughout the patient journey
• Carry out or assist with ophthalmic diagnostic tests such as OCT, Visual Fields, VA, IOP and Biometry
• Support patients before and after procedures
• Assist clinical teams with room preparation, equipment and documentation
• Maintain accurate patient records
• Follow infection prevention, safety and clinical governance procedures
• Provide a calm, professional and caring experience for patients

Requirements

• Previous experience as a Healthcare Assistant, Healthcare Technician or similar
• Minimum of 1 year's experience in a hospital, clinic, theatre, outpatient or healthcare setting
• Basic Life Support competency
• Good IT and communication skills
• A caring, organised and professional approach
• Flexibility to work bank shifts when required
• Ophthalmology experience is an advantage but not essential
• Valid UK driving licence and access to transport is desirable
