Healthcare Security Officer

Responsibilities

• Provide patient safety support, including one-to-one watches for high-risk individuals and monitoring behavioral changes.
• Respond to Code White and emergency assistance calls within the hospital and Emergency Department.
• De-escalate violent, aggressive, or emotionally distressed individuals using approved techniques.
• Perform facility patrols to deter theft, vandalism, and unauthorized access.
• Monitor security cameras and manage access control for restricted areas.
• Document incidents, patient activity logs, and daily reports accurately.
• Collaborate with clinical teams, police, EMS, and other first responders.
• Assist with hospital operations such as morgue intake, lost and found, and fire system monitoring.

Requirements

• Valid Saskatchewan Security Guard Licence (or willingness to obtain prior to start).
• Ability to obtain a clear Criminal Record Check and Vulnerable Sector Scan.
• Ability to pass a physical abilities test.
• Capacity to work in a physically demanding environment involving standing, walking, and rapid response.

Preferred Qualifications

• Education in criminal justice, law enforcement, health sciences, or related fields.
• Experience in security, healthcare, or customer service environments.
• Interest in pursuing a career in healthcare, policing, paramedicine, or emergency services.
