About the role
Responsibilities
- Perform data analysis to support preparedness and response capabilities for the NYC Health Care Coalition and the healthcare sector
- Leverage coding languages and AI tools within epidemiological principles to support BHCR programs
- Develop data visualization products including dashboards, maps, and reports for stakeholders
- Support the development and dissemination of the annual Hazard Vulnerability Assessment (HVA)
- Conduct research on public health and emergency preparedness trends to develop actionable reports
- Serve as the primary data analyst for the Healthcare Systems Supports Branch during public health emergencies
- Provide technical support for cross-bureau endeavors such as exercises, conferences, and webinars
Requirements
- Master's degree in physical, biological, environmental science, or public health
- Experience in data analysis and research within appropriate fields
- Proficiency in GIS and data visualization tools (ArcGIS, QGIS, Power BI, or Tableau)
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
Preferred Qualifications
- Understanding of public health and emergency preparedness protocols including Incident Command System (ICS)
- Proficiency in presentation and design tools such as Adobe, Canva, or Prezi
- Experience with coding languages and AI tools in an epidemiological context
