Healthcare Assistant

Responsibilities

• Assist in delivering direct patient care, including supporting activities of daily living such as hygiene, mobility, and comfort
• Record and monitor patient vital signs, perform point-of-care testing, and support basic clinical procedures
• Assist healthcare professionals during examinations, treatments, and minor procedures, including specimen collection
• Ensure adherence to infection control protocols, including proper use of personal protective equipment and sterilization processes
• Support accurate documentation and data entry in the electronic medical record system
• Communicate effectively with patients, families, and multidisciplinary teams to ensure seamless care coordination
• Perform basic administrative duties such as patient registration, scheduling, and maintaining stock levels

Requirements

• Diploma as a Healthcare Assistant or in a relevant field
• Minimum of 6 months on-the-job clinical placement as a student Healthcare Assistant
• Active license with a relevant health authority (DOH, DHA, or MOH)
• Heartsaver certification
• Proficiency in medical terminology and the ability to communicate patient status effectively
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
