Responsibilities

• Create and maintain a patient-centered focus by engaging with patients, visitors, and staff
• Assist with unit flow by checking order status and ensuring correct chart placement
• Schedule MRIs for outpatients and assist with lab requisition forms and specimens
• Prepare patients for CT scans by verifying radiation counts and communicating with Radiology
• Oversee critical patient transfers to other facilities and prepare transfer documentation
• Log patient orders and radiology times, and document final radiology reports
• Notify EVS of patient discharges to prepare rooms
• Answer phones in the RN department and assist nursing staff with data transcription
• Provide physician support by accurately and efficiently carrying out orders

Requirements

• Experience in health-related fields
• Knowledge of medical terminology
• High school Diploma or GED
• Ability to read, speak, and write English
• Ability to work 12-hour shifts including nights and weekends
• Proven ability to take initiative and work self-directedly
