Health Sciences Instructor

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and deliver training for health science courses using professional teaching techniques.
• Assist in the development of course curriculum and instructional materials.
• Oversee student clinical or practicum experiences at various community facilities.
• Manage skills lab experiences, including the inventory of supplies and equipment.
• Prepare reports regarding student success according to college and partner guidelines.
• Maintain budgetary compliance and attend required departmental meetings.

Requirements

• Current license or certification as a healthcare professional from a state or nationally recognized agency.
• Minimum of one year of experience working as a healthcare professional.
• Knowledge of healthcare industry regulations and certification exam content.
• Proficiency in computer applications and field-related equipment.
• Valid Texas Driver’s License with a good driving record and ability to be insured by the college.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to communicate effectively with a diverse population.

Preferred Qualifications

• Associate or Bachelor’s degree in a health science-related field.
• Experience teaching adolescent or adult students.
• Experience instructing health science students in both theory and practical skills.
