Health & Safety Training Advisor

Responsibilities

• Perform audits of safety and training systems at project sites
• Provide leadership and technical expertise regarding legislation and standards
• Oversee emergency response systems
• Establish and monitor site trainers and training programs
• Audit JHSC effectiveness and maintain legislative compliance
• Monitor effectiveness of incident investigations and corrective actions
• Facilitate or conduct workplace risk assessments and controls

Requirements

• First Line Underground Mine Supervisor Underground Common Core or equivalent provincial designation
• Proficient knowledge of industry legislation (OHSA, ESA, MTCU)
• Proficiency with MS Office and computerized systems
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to travel as required
• Willingness to work at underground mine sites in Ontario

Preferred Qualifications

• Certified Safety Professional (CSP) designation
• Completion of Practical Loss Control Leadership Program
