Health & Safety Manager

About the Company

Albert Bartlett is a family-owned UK food manufacturer and the country’s leading supplier of potatoes, producing fresh, chilled, and frozen potato products through sites across the UK.

Responsibilities

• Lead health and safety management and compliance across two packing sites and farm operations
• Develop and maintain health and safety systems, procedures, risk assessments, and safe systems of work
• Conduct regular site inspections, audits, and reviews to identify improvements and ensure follow-up actions
• Provide practical guidance to operational teams on risks related to machinery, manual handling, vehicle movements, contractors, farm activity, and general site operations
• Investigate incidents, near misses, and unsafe conditions to support a safe, compliant, and positive working environment

Requirements

• Experience in a Health & Safety leadership role
• Strong working knowledge of health and safety legislation
• Experience supporting both site-based and farm-based activities
• Background in food packing, manufacturing, fresh produce, or agriculture
• Hands-on experience with risk assessments, incident investigations, and audit programmes
• NEBOSH Certificate or Diploma
• Eligibility to work and residency in Jersey
