Health, Safety & Environmental Specialist

Responsibilities

• Coordinate with Corporate HESA and site leadership to support the implementation and continuous improvement of the HESA management system
• Monitor hazard identification, risk assessment, and the implementation of corrective and preventive actions
• Support the development and execution of annual HESA action plans, objectives, and reporting metrics
• Ensure HESA procedures and standards are maintained, communicated, and effectively implemented
• Support compliance with OSHA, environmental, and other applicable legal and regulatory requirements
• Participate in incident investigations, audits, inspections, and corrective action follow-up activities
• Coordinate HESA meetings, awareness campaigns, training programs, and employee engagement initiatives
• Analyze trends, statistics, and key performance indicators to drive continuous improvement

Requirements

• Minimum 5 years of HSE experience in heavy industry, steel, metals, manufacturing, or similar industrial environments
• Bachelor’s degree in Safety, HSE, Engineering, Industrial Management, or a related field
• Strong understanding of OSHA regulations, environmental compliance, and industrial risk management practices
• Proven experience with incident investigations, audits, and safety management systems
• Ability to work in an active industrial environment requiring PPE and exposure to heat, noise, and dust

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with ISO 14001 and/or ISO 45001 management systems
• Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
• Ability to work cross-functionally with Operations, Maintenance, and Engineering teams
