Health, Safety & Environment Advisor

Responsibilities

• Monitor work to ensure compliance with HSE requirements, legislative standards, and client safety policies
• Perform field observations and assessments (approximately 75% of time)
• Assist in developing safe work practices and job procedures
• Conduct investigations into workplace medical aid or loss time incidents
• Deliver information training sessions and new employee orientations
• Issue rapid responses and corrective action notices
• Coach Managers, Supervisors, and Trades personnel on hazard identification, inspections, and investigations
• Review and communicate policies to optimize HSE performance

Requirements

• Completion of Grade 12
• Construction Safety Advisor designation or better from a recognized organization
• Proven experience in Safety, Human Performance, and Continuous Improvement programs
• Knowledge of applicable laws and government regulations
• Ability to obtain security clearance
• Basic computer literacy and Microsoft Office proficiency

Preferred Qualifications

• Ongoing discipline-related training in health, safety, and environmental issues
• Experience working within a Nuclear Facility environment
