Health & Safety Advisor

Responsibilities

• Provide practical health and safety advice, coaching and support to leaders and employees
• Build a strong safety culture by influencing behaviors and promoting continuous improvement
• Ensure sites have fit-for-purpose health and safety plans, risk registers and effective controls
• Support risk management tools such as Take 5s and JHAs
• Lead incident, hazard and near-miss reporting, investigations and corrective actions
• Conduct regular site visits, inspections and audits to assess compliance and operational risk
• Provide advice on WHS legislation, codes of practice and Australian Standards
• Review contractor safety management plans and provide guidance on effective management
• Deliver WHS training, education and awareness initiatives

Requirements

• Tertiary qualification in Health and Safety or minimum Diploma in Health and Safety
• Current National Police Clearance and full driver’s licence
• Strong knowledge of Australian WHS legislation, standards and codes of practice
• Experience in a similar health and safety role
• Proficiency using business systems and technology for reporting and data management
• Strong communication and influencing skills
