Health Payment Reimbursement Manager

Responsibilities

• Advise clients on reimbursement strategy, payment model options, and provider finance issues across Medicaid, rural, and safety-net settings.
• Assess current reimbursement approaches to identify opportunities for improving adequacy, strengthening incentives, and supporting provider sustainability.
• Develop recommendations for payment model design, reimbursement redesign, and implementation roadmaps.
• Translate complex reimbursement issues into clear decision materials and executive presentations.
• Manage day-to-day engagement delivery, including work planning, team coordination, and client communications.
• Build relationships with senior client stakeholders and facilitate working sessions to identify follow-on opportunities.

Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years of experience with Medicaid payment strategy, provider reimbursement, payment reform, or provider finance.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience assessing reimbursement adequacy, provider incentives, and financial sustainability across hospitals, rural providers, FQHCs, or behavioral health settings.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience translating state or federal priorities into viable reimbursement structures or implementation approaches.
• Bachelor's Degree.

Preferred Qualifications

• Medicaid managed care and contracting experience, including familiarity with rate setting, actuarial soundness, and value-based purchasing.
• Leadership in payment reform implementation, such as designing quality incentives, episode/bundle models, or performance measurement.
• Working knowledge of Medicaid policy mechanisms, including State Plan Amendments (SPAs) and 1115/1915 waivers.
• Strong command of fee-for-service, capitation, bundled payment, and shared savings or risk models.
