Health Information Specialist

Responsibilities

• Receive and process requests for patient health information in accordance with Company and facility policies
• Maintain confidentiality, security, and HIPAA compliance for all privileged information
• Manage patient health records, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and proper assembly
• Prepare new patient charts and create digital images of paperwork for electronic medical records
• Respond to internal and external requests for patient records and transmit them appropriately
• Answer inbound and outbound calls, assist with patient walk-ins, and support administrative duties such as faxes, mail, and data entry
• Meet productivity expectations and inform manager of site difficulties or volume fluctuations

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED and at least 18 years old
• Ability to commute between locations and work overtime during peak seasons when required
• Basic computer proficiency and comfort using phones, fax machines, printers, and general office equipment
• Professional verbal and written English communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in a healthcare environment
• Previous production or metric-based work experience
• In-person customer service experience and ability to build relationships with on-site clients
• Comfortable sharing new ideas, process improvements, and feedback with internal stakeholders
