Health Information Specialist

Responsibilities

• Receive and process requests for patient health information per Company and Facility policies
• Maintain confidentiality and security of privileged information and ensure HIPAA compliance
• Prepare new patient charts, gathering documents from paper and electronic health records
• Assemble medical records in standard order, ensuring accuracy and completeness
• Create digital images of paperwork for storage in the electronic medical record
• Respond to internal and external requests for patient records
• Answer inbound/outbound calls and assist with patient walk-ins
• Handle administrative duties such as faxes, mail, and data entry
• Meet site-specific productivity expectations

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED
• Ability to commute between locations as needed
• Willingness to work overtime during peak seasons
• Basic computer proficiency and comfort with office equipment
• Professional verbal and written communication skills in English
• Detail-oriented with strong data entry skills
• Ability to organize and manage multiple tasks with minimal supervision
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-volume environment

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in a healthcare environment
• Previous production or metric-based work experience
• In-person customer service experience
• Ability to build relationships with on-site clients and customers
