Health Educator

Responsibilities

• Facilitate individual and small group sessions to guide youth toward healthy eating and physical activity habits
• Lead weekly family health workshops for parents and caregivers
• Conduct bi-weekly one-on-one goal-setting sessions for high-risk students
• Facilitate Wellness Clubs to promote peer support and engaging wellness activities
• Support the implementation of nutrition and physical activity programming at various sites
• Document student activities, participation, and services provided
• Gather physical measurements including height, weight, and PACER fitness test results
• Advocate for healthier eating choices among students, families, and staff

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in nutrition, health education, public health, community health, or a related wellness field
• Experience conducting health/nutrition assessments and implementing health education workshops
• Proven experience in group and individual health counseling
• Familiarity with motivational interviewing techniques
• Strong group facilitation, classroom management, and presentation skills
• Ability to work in urban settings with diverse populations
• Ability to commit to a fixed schedule (minimum 20 hours/week during school year; up to 40 hours/week during summer)
