About the role
Responsibilities
- Facilitate individual and small group sessions to guide youth toward healthy eating and physical activity habits
- Lead weekly family health workshops for parents and caregivers
- Conduct bi-weekly one-on-one goal-setting sessions for high-risk students
- Facilitate Wellness Clubs to promote peer support and engaging wellness activities
- Support the implementation of nutrition and physical activity programming at various sites
- Document student activities, participation, and services provided
- Gather physical measurements including height, weight, and PACER fitness test results
- Advocate for healthier eating choices among students, families, and staff
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in nutrition, health education, public health, community health, or a related wellness field
- Experience conducting health/nutrition assessments and implementing health education workshops
- Proven experience in group and individual health counseling
- Familiarity with motivational interviewing techniques
- Strong group facilitation, classroom management, and presentation skills
- Ability to work in urban settings with diverse populations
- Ability to commit to a fixed schedule (minimum 20 hours/week during school year; up to 40 hours/week during summer)
