About the role

Responsibilities

  • Support the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of site safety programs to ensure compliance with federal, state, local, and corporate requirements.
  • Conduct routine safety inspections, audits, and assessments of facilities, equipment, and work practices.
  • Perform EHS hazard identification, risk assessments, and mitigation activities for new and existing processes.
  • Lead incident investigations and root cause analysis, maintaining accurate records within safety management systems.
  • Assist in maintaining compliance with OSHA regulations and identify necessary corrective measures.
  • Support emergency response planning, including drills and coordination with site Emergency Response Teams.
  • Deliver safety and environmental training programs, including new employee orientation and task-specific training.
  • Monitor deliverables from third-party EHS service providers.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree and at least 1 year of environmental health, fire safety, or safety experience; OR
  • Master's degree and no professional experience; OR
  • At least 3 years of environmental health, fire safety, or safety experience.
  • Working knowledge of OSHA regulations and applicable safety and health standards.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Teams, SharePoint).
  • Ability to be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience conducting safety inspections and incident investigations in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
  • Manufacturing or automotive operations experience.
  • Familiarity with ISO-based management systems such as ISO 9001 or ISO 14001.
  • Strong organizational skills with high attention to detail.
