About the role

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement effective practice plans and conduct daily training sessions for the women's rowing program.
  • Recruit, retain, and develop qualified student-athletes who demonstrate academic and athletic potential.
  • Manage all operational aspects including scheduling, travel logistics, equipment, and facility usage.
  • Develop and administer the program budget in accordance with University policies.
  • Ensure strict compliance with all NCAA, Sunshine State Conference (SSC), and University regulations.
  • Mentor student-athletes in leadership, life skills, and academic success.
  • Lead fundraising initiatives and promote the program through community outreach and engagement.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.
  • Demonstrated coaching experience in rowing at the collegiate, club, or elite level.
  • Strong knowledge of rowing techniques, training methodologies, and competitive strategies.
  • Thorough understanding of NCAA rules and regulations.
  • Proven ability to recruit and develop student-athletes.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
  • Ability to manage budgets, schedules, and travel logistics.
  • Ability to work evenings, weekends, and travel as required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree.
  • Collegiate head coaching experience.
  • Experience with fundraising, alumni relations, and community engagement.
  • Experience supervising coaching staff and support personnel.
  • Strong understanding of NCAA Division II athletics.
