Head Varsity Boys Basketball Coach

Responsibilities

• Serve as the inspirational leader and positive role model for the King Boys Basketball program for grades 6-12.
• Oversee all levels of the program, including Varsity, JV, and Middle School, providing mentorship and evaluation for assistant coaches.
• Develop and maintain a competitive environment focused on continuous improvement, skill development, and character building.
• Plan and facilitate meaningful daily practices and execute effective coaching techniques during competitions.
• Establish a strategic vision for the program, including the recruitment of prospective student-athletes in collaboration with the Admissions office.
• Promote a culture of sportsmanship, inclusion, and academic excellence among all student-athletes.
• Coordinate out-of-season training, summer activities, and conditioning opportunities.
• Communicate effectively and transparently with athletes, families, and the broader school community.

Requirements

• Minimum of three years of high school or college basketball coaching experience.
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to mentor coaches and student-athletes.
• Excellent communication skills for interacting with students, parents, and school administration.
• Deep working knowledge of basketball strategy, teaching techniques, and player development.
