Head Start/Preschool Assistant Teacher

Responsibilities

• Assist the Lead Teacher in planning and providing quality educational experiences for preschool-aged children
• Help prepare daily and weekly program experiences tailored to the needs of the children
• Engage in adult-child interactions that are responsive, supportive, and respectful of children's development and play interests
• Participate actively in all daily activities planned for the children to support cognitive, social, and emotional growth

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent credential
• Child Development Associate (CDA) Credential or equivalent
• Completion of Child Growth and Development coursework (or equivalent per NH State Childcare Licensing requirements)
• Previous experience working in an early childhood classroom setting
• CPR/First Aid certification
• Successful completion of a criminal record check
• Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
• Ability to relate comfortably to income-eligible families
