Head Start/Preschool Assistant Teacher

High School Diploma or equivalent, CDA Credential or equivalent, Child Growth and Development coursework, Early childhood classroom experience, CPR/First Aid certification, Criminal record check completion
About the role
Responsibilities
- Assist the Lead Teacher in planning and providing quality educational experiences for preschool-aged children
- Prepare daily and weekly program experiences tailored to the needs of the children
- Engage in adult-child interactions that are responsive, supportive, and respectful of children's development and play interests
- Participate actively in all daily activities planned for the children
- Support the cognitive, social, and emotional development of preschool-aged children
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Child Development Associate (CDA) Credential or equivalent
- Completion of Child Growth and Development coursework (or equivalent per NH State Childcare Licensing requirements)
- Previous experience working in an early childhood classroom
- CPR/First Aid certification
- Successful completion of a criminal record check
- Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to relate comfortably to income-eligible families
