About the role

Responsibilities

  • Maintain a safe, healthy, and nurturing learning environment for preschoolers.
  • Support daily learning experiences that advance intellectual and physical development, including literacy, math, and science.
  • Build trusting, professional relationships with children and their families.
  • Provide positive guidance to children following established behavior management policies.
  • Assist with classroom administrative tasks, such as meal tallies, attendance, and cleaning responsibilities.
  • Participate in family-style meals and various family engagement initiatives.
  • Attend required professional development sessions and staff meetings.
  • Ensure child safety by following emergency preparedness procedures and maintaining hygiene standards.

Requirements

  • At least 18 years of age.
  • High School diploma or G.E.D.
  • Child Development Associate (CDA) credential or 9 credit hours of early childhood college coursework (including 3 hours of child growth and development).
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel when needed.
  • Current CPR and First Aid training.
  • Physical ability to engage in motor activities (running, jumping, dancing) and lift children in emergencies.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associate’s Degree in Early Childhood Education (ECE).
