About the role
Responsibilities
- Lead all aspects of the Upper School rowing programs, including practice planning, athlete development, and program administration
- Instruct athletes in fundamental skills, strategies, and physical conditioning for individual and team success
- Oversee day-to-day operations, including equipment upkeep, repairs, and coordinating team travel
- Organize seasonal team meetings to establish rules, procedures, and expectations
- Assign lineups and submit entries for all regattas in compliance with US Rowing rules
- Maintain open communication with parents, athletes, and the Director of Athletics
- Drive teams and/or equipment to and from practices and competitions
Requirements
- High school diploma required; bachelor's degree preferred
- At least three years of experience in coaching rowing or similar relevant experience
- Ability to drive a trailer to transport equipment
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and basic computer technology
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and climate
- Physical ability to move rowing equipment and demonstrate athletic movements
- Ability to work flexible hours, including before/after school and weekends
