Head Resident Assistant

Responsibilities

• Facilitate the social, academic, and personal adjustment of students to the residence hall and University.
• Provide leadership and oversight to the Resident Assistant (RA) staff, including assisting with recruitment, selection, and evaluation.
• Create a positive, welcoming, and inclusive community environment through programming and learning initiatives.
• Serve as a positive role model and enforce all Residence Life, Housing, and University policies and codes of conduct.
• Participate in on-call rotations, including weeknights and weekends, to respond to emergencies and policy violations.
• Assist with administrative tasks such as room assessments, staff meetings, and RA training sessions.
• Act as an advocate for residents and report concerns to supervisors in a timely manner.

Requirements

• Must be a full-time Texas Wesleyan University student.
• Must have completed at least one semester of experience as a Resident Assistant.
• Must maintain both a cumulative and semester GPA of 2.5 or higher.

• Proven ability to resolve conflicts fairly and consistently.
• Excellent organizational and communication skills.
• Ability to maintain composure and exercise professional judgment during emergency situations.
