Head of the API Centre of Excellence

Responsibilities

• Define and refine Euroclear’s enterprise API strategy, standards, and best practices to drive an API-First organization.
• Own the API CoE product roadmap, including platforms, tooling, lifecycle management, and governance services.
• Lead and coach a multidisciplinary squad of engineers and specialists, managing performance, recruitment, and career development.
• Establish API development guidelines covering design, security, versioning, and documentation.
• Partner with Architecture, Cyber Security, and Engineering tribes to ensure consistent API quality, resilience, and performance.
• Act as a change sponsor to promote transformation initiatives and foster an engineering culture focused on automation and reusability.

Requirements

• Proven experience in API strategy, integration architecture, or platform/product leadership.
• Strong technical expertise in API lifecycle management and API gateways.
• Deep understanding of security patterns including OAuth2, JWT, and mTLS.
• Proven people leadership capability with experience managing high-performing teams in an agile environment.
• Strong product mindset with experience in roadmap ownership and stakeholder management.
• Excellent communication and influencing skills for both technical and non-technical audiences.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience driving large-scale enterprise technology transformations.
• Familiarity with cloud-native patterns, event-driven architecture, microservices, and CI/CD automation.
• Knowledge of financial services integration landscapes and security standards.
