About the role
Responsibilities
- Manage short- and long-term technology strategy and capital planning
- Oversee day-to-day operations including equipment integration, maintenance, and transmission for live programming
- Lead engineering, IT, and production teams in a 24/7/365 environment
- Ensure compliance with FCC rules, OSHA standards, and critical IT security policies
- Manage business continuity, disaster recovery, and cybersecurity contingency plans
- Maintain financial responsibility for the engineering department, including budgeting and expense approvals
- Manage vendor contracts for technology, building maintenance, and security
- Monitor and scrutinize daily on-air technical quality and lead workflow improvements
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
- 3-5 years of experience in broadcast operations or technology management
- In-depth knowledge of broadcast technologies including ENPS, RF transmission, and broadcast switchers
- Strong project management experience and ability to lead station-wide initiatives
- Understanding of IT processes, including security, workflow, and management
- Valid driver's license and ability to operate news gathering vehicles
- Excellent leadership, communication, and decision-making skills under pressure
