Head of Technical Program Management - Banking

Responsibilities

• Own the program for Mercury's bank charter and governance work, managing sequencing, dependencies, and risks across engineering, product, design, and data teams
• Define the TPM operating system for the banking organization, including rituals, tooling, reporting, and standards
• Build and manage a team of TPMs while acting as a player-coach for select program areas like credit and lending
• Develop executive-level reporting and self-serve dashboards to synthesize complex information into actionable narratives
• Drive decision-making through ambiguity by clarifying ownership and forcing necessary trade-offs
• Implement automation and agentic flows to increase program efficiency and quality
• Maintain the high level of auditability and documentation rigor required for regulated environments

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience in program management, engineering, or product leadership
• 3+ years of experience managing TPMs or PMs
• Technical background in engineering, technical program management, or senior product roles
• Experience working within regulated industries, with a strong preference for fintech or banking
• Proven track record of building program management functions or operating systems from the ground up
• Exceptional communication skills with the ability to influence stakeholders from individual contributors to executives

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience at a fintech company that is operating on or building toward its own banking infrastructure
