Head of Technical Accounting

Responsibilities

• Act as the Group authority on technical accounting matters and provide advice on complex issues
• Lead the assessment and documentation of significant accounting judgments and estimates
• Prepare and review technical accounting papers for the Audit Committee
• Act as the primary technical interface with External Auditors
• Partner with Tax, Legal, and Corporate Development on restructurings, acquisitions, and disposals
• Own and maintain the Group accounting manual, policies, and procedures
• Lead implementation of new and revised accounting standards
• Build and develop technical accounting capability across the Group finance function

Requirements

• Extensive technical accounting experience within a large, complex, listed organisation or top-tier professional services firm
• Deep expertise in IFRS
• Significant experience supporting Audit Committees and engaging with External Auditors
• Experience supporting restructurings, transactions, and tax-related accounting matters
• Strong professional judgement and ability to articulate accounting positions
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Information Systems, or related field
• Professional finance qualification preferred (e.g., ACA, ACCA, CIMA)
